Cooper with two days of Prozac in his system is a beautiful thing! So far, it seems to be doing only good things for my high strung pup! He seems so much more relaxed. He is not on high alert at all times. He is stretching a ton! Every time he stands up he does a giant stretch with his leg way out behind him, then he arches his back real big, then he puts his butt in the air with his front paws stretched way out and lets out a huge groan. Not a groan of pain, but of someone that just had a great stretch! I need to video tape it because it is intense stretching! Maybe Prozac will turn him into a yoga instructor. Who knows.
He is sleeping a bit more, he is rolling over and exposing his belly for rubs which is new, he is not biting my feet which is much appreciated, he is not blocking the gate to upstairs every chance he gets which is also appreciated, he is not barking as much and basically he is acting like a dog that you can live with! Hooray for Cooper! I am very optimistic after just two days and I think it really takes about two weeks to fully get into your system. Very promising!
In other news.....
Spring is showing up everywhere in Texas! Here are some pictures from my phone this week!
I love breakfast! By far, my favorite meal of the day!
Cooper demolished this poor mat that goes in the back of my car last week! UGH! I reinstalled it yesterday with 1,000 zip ties to hold it in place so that he is not able to rip it up and destroy it. Not sure if it will hold, but only ten minutes of TWDITW in the way back will tell! Maybe the Prozac with help too! Fingers crossed.
Yesterday, after I had cleaned house, delivered a ton of oatmeal and cereal donations to one our philanthropies, taken TWDITW out for a romp at the park, cleaned out my car and raked up a ton of leaves....I found myself on the back patio with a giant green juice and a good book. It started raining really lightly and basically it was heaven! So peaceful and relaxing.
After my relaxing afternoon on the back patio, I went to dinner with my friend Sheri to a new restaurant I had never been to! There was a never ending basket of excellent chips and salsa, a margarita and some crazy good brisket enchiladas. Dos Salsas, I will be back! We covered all the problems of the world, our lives and laughed a lot and maybe teared up a little bit. Such a gift to have people in my life I can be myself with...warts and all! It is the best!
This morning, I woke up and was sitting in our rarely used living room reading a book and drinking coffee and realized this is another spot in my house that feels really relaxing to me. It was raining AGAIN and I just took a moment to savor the peace and calm and warmth. So grateful.
I hope your weekend has been a great combination of productive, relaxing and fun! Bring on Monday!
After reading your last Blog about Cooper at the Vets, I was a little concern about your health with TWDITW. Although I laughed several times it was scary to think how violent he gets. So this blog about the Coop on drugs relieves some of my concerns. Maybe they will turn him around and I sure hope so. Love ya.
